Women's 1 Day Avalanche Rescue Course

  • Tracks of Her Own - Backcountry Guides Mammoth Lakes, CA USA (map)

Like any skill, avalanche rescue techniques get rusty without regular practice — and when seconds matter, confidence and speed make all the difference.

Whether you’re brand new to the backcountry or a seasoned veteran, this one-day course is designed to help you build (or refresh) your rescue fundamentals through hands-on practice and real-world scenarios.

In this course we’ll cover:

  • Using your beacon, probe, and shovel efficiently

  • Working within a rescue team

  • Managing a scene safely and effectively

  • Building confidence through repetition and guided feedback

  • What to Do After the Rescue (First Aid/Evacuation)
